Very sticky tyres

Featured Replies

Got a set of Hankook RS-2 for the MR2. So far, stable and sure footed in the wet (soaks up full throttle in 1st), stick like poo on a blanket in the dry. Sidewall is strong for those of us with big heavy derv lumps up front. They warm up quickly at road speeds, and generate enough heat to warm up in the wet as well. If you want very sticky tyres and don't mind a bit of tread wear, try these. Got mine from Camskill:

HANKOOK TYRES / TRACKDAY TRACK DAY / HANKOOK RS2 Z 212 HANKOOK R S2 Z212 HANKOOK RS 2 - - Track Day Tyres - Trackday Tyres - Motorsport Tyres -

Cornering speeds are getting kind of scary with these on. It is now possible to feel the body flexing as the cornering loads mount up. Good job I am fitting a load of chassis stiffening braces next weekend. These will stabilise the spacing between lower arm points and rigidise the whole shell. The tyres seem quite progressive as well, pretty easy to hold a decent angle through the corners. Very throttle steerable.

I got the Hankook Ventus for the Fabby vRS - not as 'all out' as the RS-2 by the sounds of it, but still more than happy, very grippy, good wear so far 7k look about half-worn, quieter than the Michelins, pretty good even in greasy conditions. Bought them as a result of looking at mytyres and pneus-online ratings.

Not been disappointed at all.
