Part no for a screw?

Featured Replies

Long shot i know, but does anyone have the part number for the screws that hold the grill assembly to the bonnet?

Mine have gone awol, and oddly they're not on the Skoda fiche...

I could probably give you a telephone number. ;) :naughty:

I'm not sure that I have those screws in my collection of odds and sods. Are these the ones which hold on the two metal brackets, or the torx ones which attach it to the front lip of the bonnet? If you can post a pic of one of the screws, I have a plethora of torx bolts around, so will send you 3 or 4 f.o.c. :)

EDIT: Just checked, octavia is the same

My source says it is M6, not M16. - M16 sounds like a very wide bolt to me?

Edit: And if it is four of those you need, Gyp - Give me a shout. ;)

Yup, typo :o ,part numbers right though!

 Indeed it is. ;) Oh, and after a little rummage I found all these torx screws. I suspect the ones for the grille are the ones like the one I left out the front a bit. Quite wide but I don't think are M6. If someone else can undo one of these grille bolts on their fabia (I have badgeless grille so can't) and post a pic, I'll see if I can find 4 the same. It could well be the one sticking out to the left. That one seems to be 6mm when measured.

Excellent, thanks. I've got one, liberated from another car at the dealership so I can have a look and try and match them up.

Now I've got the part number I'll check at the dealer this week on price, as they might be one of those parts where it's cheaper to buy them than it would cost to post them.

Then again, once I've got the price, I suspect I'll be taking you up on the offer :)

Just let me know. :) One reason I keep almost every bit of my car I change, and almost every bit of the one I smashed up - was for this kind of purpose. :)

Jason, i dropped one of mine into the engine bay on removal of my grill-bonnet brackets :o

any chance you can keep one handy for me please :D

Ger under your car and retrieve it. :P I bet if you hit the tray from underneath you get a nice rattle.

thats the thing, i looked and looked and looked some more, eventually removed the lower tray and it wasn't there.its either still in the engine bay somewhere or been lost due to driving.

Fair enough - Do you know which bolts are the ones which hold the brackets on with? Can you remove one of the existing ones and post a good macro pic please?

OK, they're not good macro pics, but they are macro pics. As you can (possibly) see it's a coarse self-tapping thread with a T-30 torx head.

As it turns out I'm not off to the dealer this week, if you do have 3 and could post them to me I would be forever in your debt. Well for a day or two anyway. :) :) :)

Hmm, I'll have to keep rummaging, as none of the bolts I have pictured above really matches the one here. I have another box to rummage through so will let you know. It's just that box is at my mate's garage...
