I've had that twice. You need a friendly chap with VAG-COM.

Cheers for that , but will i do any damage to engine if i keep running car ?

Can't specifically say for that one however if you are worried ring the RAC.

I managed to get my light to go out by turning the engine off and on a couple of times. My thoughts were if it was really serious I am guessing it would go into limp mode.

As Ian says if you have concerns phone the RAC as they now carry equipment to read and to reset the indicator. Might save a trip to the dealer.

Make sure and tell them you want a VAG guy when you call them and not just recovery.

Had it twice on different cars, both times it was the exhaust gas sensor which had gone faulty, better get it checked at the dealer.

I have the same light 'on' in mine.

assuming you have the orange light, it's probably the post cat o2 sensor :) Not gonna do any damage i've been told by the dealer while i'm waiting for my slot in the garage.

(i had RAC out twice to reset it & it came back on within 100miles both times)

Tata,

MPM :D

Specifically mine was to do with the intake manifold runner.

In both cases sorted by a very nice man with VAG-COM.

A very very nice man.
