series 1 vrs audio upgrade

heres the thing im looking for some help to put in a half decent bit of kit in our octy1 vrs (manu.-2005)

can i just upgrade the factory fit units ? what will i need ? (speaker sizes) etc

tried to fit 6x9s in the 03 model and found that the speakers would just about fit but grilles didn't so looked crap in the shelf . can 5x9s be installed or are they even available

im thinking fusion stuff ..... any ideas

I have a set of Pioneer 17" fronts TS-E1776 & 13" rears TS-H1302 from my old mk1, straight swap (I could be tempted to part with them )

Hi. Had the car since May 25. Always been a knocking sound like metal on metal from the front suspension when driving over bumps in the road. It sounds a bit like an old worn shock absorber on a car from the past. The dealer identified and acknowledged the unusual sound but were unable to identify the cause. I contacted Skoda UK customer services who were generally pretty unhelpful. The did supply the dealer with a copy of a page from an internal powerpoint presentation which revealed that

Went to get in the car this afternoon after it had been parked in the sun all day and I swear it never had this gap above the airbag before?! Has something moved? Could someone take a pic of their airbag to compare? It’s the standard round wheel and not the facelift one. I’m away with work at the minute otherwise I would remove it and have a better look. Pushing it does nothing other than sound the horn! Has something fallen off or moved or have I just never noticed it before!

Hey guys, Just wanted to share some of my positive experience with the 6 speed DSG DQ250. I wasn’t happy with the DSG behavior on my Octy because it was jerky between 2nd and 3rd and vise versa. And also between 1st and 2nd with light throttle. So I decided to check the DSG oil by adding 1liter and also check for leaks from the DSG filter seal due to some oil on the transmission which I’ve noticed while changing the engine oil few months ago. Hello, I activated Smart Link on my swing 3 radio, at Skoda Octavia mk3 MY 2018, so I want to share with everyone how it can be done. DISCLAIMER: You do it at your rensponsability, is not easy to do, and you can mess things out, possible brick you device. Do it only if you have expereince in this kind of activity. Physical tools needed: Tool for removing radio 4 pieces, just google "VAG radio removal tool", cost about 1€. CH341A Mini Programmer, cost about 10€. PC/Laptop Philips screwdriver
