Just wondering - this gear box changes so often in stop and go traffic [from 1 to 2 to 3 and back down to 1 etc], does it 'wear out' the box in any way? Or is it designed to take this. The changes are certainly more than I do with a MT for the same kind of traffic.

this is one of the downfalls of dsg apparently but id imagine itll be fine its doing what it was designed to do.

This is perfectly normal but if it upsets you put it into either Sport or Manual - though manual rather defeats the object of DSG in traffic

Actually sounds pretty typical of most autos, when the road speed is just wrong relative to the light-throttle shift revs.
