Hesitation problem on 1.9 TDI

I was hoping this post would be the tale of how I wrapped this up without any major fuss but I

As above the later PD100 is also affected although less publicised.

So is there a similar service bulletin to the vRS one which dealers would know about for folk with later PD100s?

I notice that Fabia_TDI's problem is when setting off in first (I assume from rest) - is this a symptom of the infamous "stutter"?

I've not seen a TSB but that isn't to say there isn't one.

The stutter happens at about 1800 rpm in first - should have been clearer about that. Doesn't happen all the time though - done a 40 mile trip this morning and it was good as gold. The guy from dealer mentioned the VRS problem when I spoke to him - I didn't spend much time looking at that on this forum because I assumed it only affected the VRS. He also said MAFs usually go on Octys, not Fabias. Anyway, I'll do my homework on the VRS stutter and have a good chat with the guys from the dealer on Monday. Maybe my MAF theory is a red herring?

Hope I can get this sorted - it's occasionally spoiling my enjoyment of a VERY nice car.

Thanks all!

It has been reported on the PD100 - You aren't alone.

The PD100 was revised in a similar way to the PD130 and given a new engine code, AXR or similar I think.

Thanks once again. I think my dealer is a decent one but I don't think they'll be able to help, as you say. I ordered a 9mm gasket from the VW dealer opposite where I work on Friday and I plan to fit it next weekend all being well. Will report back on my progress.

Sounds like the same problem as what I had - see my earlier posting re. changing the EGR gasket - 15th July i think.

I'm almost scared to post this, but I'm sure some of you might be curious.

-The 9mm gasket seems to have fixed the problem (6 days - no stuttering).

-Stu was correct. My engine code is AXR (it is in front of the service record for anyone reading this who didn't know already).

-The hole in the original gasket from my car is 32mm (ish) rather than 25.

Thanks for the advice. Invaluable.

:)

Worth adding this to the sticky post on the PD130 ?

I'll make it so.

Gonna try this on my 56 PD100.

It has the same hesitation @ 2000rpm.

Be nice if it's fixable for a coupe of quid.
