Lowering Rooflining

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had my car aerial broken off by some little b******* outside my girlfriends house the other day and they have also broken the base. Anyways, to cut a long story short I need to fit a new aerial base. Can someone please explain how you drop the rooflining at the back of the hatchback version of the Octy II, bearing in mind it only needs to come down an inch or two so that I can get my fingers and/or a tool in to unbolt/bolt up the aerials. I don't have curtain airbags so you needn't worry about them either.

Your help will be much appreciated guys!

Open hatch, remove parcel shelf and get in boot.

Look up and grab the plastic trim that runs along the roof parallel to the opening and pull hard.

Most of the clips will be retained in the roof of the car, use pliers to pull these out and re-affix to the slots in the trim

gently pull at the side trims until they have become detached along the top edge.

You should now be able to get an inch or so clearence into the lining.
