Price difference on 06 to 56 vRS?

Featured Replies

should they be the same as in the same year technically, but on paper its 6 months reg difference right?

Dont worry guys, im still on the hunt for a vRS, but deciding to go for red/yella one, plus i been told by garage last night that its not metallic, only silver and black are, never knew that...

Anyways, they were selling a red vRS 06 plate with 4000 miles for 10800, yet down the road (40 miles plus lol), they are selling black/silver ones with average 4000-8000 miles on 56 reg for same price... surely they must bring red one down in value?

Its due for its annual service, and im trying to get 4500 for my car and bring price down of the red vRS before i trade in, lets see how it goes, though wanted to see general thoughts on price with 06/56 plate

Think it is a bit much really - I assume it's a dealer? I couldn't get a good deal on the vRS from a dealer. Maybe if you are comparing to another dealer you may get a bit of money off.

Have a look on parkers.co.uk to get prices - I had a quick look and the difference between 06 and 56 is about £500 (£11425 vs £10899). Often worth buying a Parkers guide book too as I don't think you can access the mileage adjustment charts online (to increase or decrease value according to mileage). Average mileage for a one year old car is 10k, I think.

I would value your trade in and value the one you're buying (taking into account mileage on both). You should be able to get the car for a little bit less than the difference (depends on your haggling skills).

Hope that helps.

How can a 06 / 56 plated one be worth that much? I didn't pay much more than that for a new one a year ago

because you cant buy new ones any more, late ones are holding their value really well.

Woohoo, time to sell then ;)

Yeah, anyone want a 06 plate vRS (Silver) - bought for £10000 will sell for £10800

Well I wouldn't discourage anyone from shopping around and/or doing a bit of negotiation on the price...

im still shopping... garage just got back, and said their cit want to offer 3500 for mine (avereage standing quote on garages is 3800 for my C2 GT), but highest i got so far is 4500. Will see.

For the sake of an extra 10000 miles, might go for one that offers better dosh for part ex. Might even have to start looking at silver and black again *sigh*

get yerself an se man.
