What price is a reasonable price?

Featured Replies

I have a 2006 '06 plate Fabia vRS in the best colour, silver!

Standard but with factory fitted leather, xenons, airbag switch, ipod connection.

Full service history

36,500 careful miles...

What realistic price should I be able to get as a trade in? Especially anyone who has traded there car in recently.

Just as a guide really, I have looked at dealer prices and autotrader prices, and they seem to be still holding reasonable value. Your help will be greatly appreciated..........

Thanks

Anyone?...As a footnote I was offered £7500 yesterday by a dealer, which I felt was a pretty poor price TBH.

I need a bigger car as my wife is expecting....So it's got to go.....and I've got to get a 'Family Car':( ;)

It depends if that was a cash price or a PX price. £7500 is probably about what a dealer would ask as a cash buy.

Octavia next ??

I'd buy it for £7500!!!

;-)

If I was you I would be looking near to £8500. I would have thought factory leather and xeons should add £500-700 to guide price? If you go to a dealer you will see cars like yours (without leather and xeons) going for around £9000+

Not an Octavia..........Hopefully an Audi A4 s-line special edition in black........NICE, and practical!

I have seen the vRS has still got really good residuals, so the price I was offered I almost fell off the chair..........No wonder dealers get a bad reputation for over charging on the forecourts, then trying to make 2-3K on the trade-in..

I may advertise it privately........

IIRC they do say something about £500 more if you part exchange with them, but can't remember TBH as it's a while since I used it for mine.
