Is a green fabia really blue?

Featured Replies

I have just bought, yesterday, a Skoda Fabia classic 1.2 after doing some

research and hearing good reviews.

It is 53 registration and described as green but it is blue as far as I'm concerned. I bought it at Dutton Forshaw (Skoda) in Maidstone and the whole process with the journey by bus took most of the day. I'm hoping I haven't made a massive mistake!

I paid £4000 using my debit card and am due to collect it on Thursday. Does anyone have information on the range of colours at this time of manufacture? Could someone allay my fears? How is a blue green? The mileage is under 33,000 and a service is due in April. (If my fears are not valid I would be grateful for advice on service costs at a later date!)

Could just be a mistake on the V5 if thats where its stating it. This can easily be changed by the DVLA.

SWMBO pug 106 was stated as blue on the V5 but was green.

Hello MKH

Green has often been described as blue and vice versa you bought from a reputable dealer, just sit back and enjoy your new motor:thumbup:

Rang today and actual colour is 'admiral blue' so wait and see what's on

the log book. Salesman is going to telephone tomorrow to say whether car

has had one or two previous owners. Don't know why this worries me

as my old car only had one previous owner and is still sitting outside my

house with a suspected head gasket with less than 54,000 on the clock.

Car is a Rover 1.1i and was similiar in age (4yrs) and mileage (32,000ish)

when I bought it getting on for 5 years ago.

Advice on what to do with my old car would be appreciated.

Bring your new car down to the White Rabbit in Maidstone 1st Friday of the month as it's a regular meet.

Welcome.

I'd suspect that "Admiral Blue" would be some sort of navy shade.

OTOH blue/green confusion with metallics is pretty common. I used to have a metallic green ZX, that was twice ticketed as "blue" (both times when I left the car in one of 6 vacant residents' bays for 10 minutes whilst locating the entrance to a car park that I knew was nearby but couldn't figure out how to get to). Both tickets cancelled on appeal with copy of V5.

hi again, the car you're talking about is the one you bought from myself :) hope you dont mind my reply here. Im just on lunch (yes late i know!) and i saw your post.

im ever so sorry for the colour confusion. the key tag was labled up as green, so being quite "green" myself about the skoda colours i thought it was just a very blue looking green, which i now know to be admiral blue.

i hope our conversation earlier on sorted out any worries youve got? by the way any luck finding a new home for the rover?

you will find plenty of help and honest advice here, thats why im here to pick their brains clean!!

Spooky.. this is the first forum I've ever been on.. small world indeed. Am

feeling happier now, thanks.

Yes someone (from axl8t, TWells) came to look at rover and collecting today. Getting £200 cash (8 mths road tax left main attraction, I suppose)

See you tomorrow
