It depends on the dealer tbh.

Some around where you live are rubbish, and some are very good.

Have faith and keep your fingers crossed,i am sure all will be fine:)

If it is Bradford's Skoda dealer I would go over it very carefully when you get it back, having been stung by their Ossett dealership for not taking care of mine and damaging it while they were doing warranty repairs.

Should be fine, but ,things i have noticed when the car has come back from the dealers are.

1: kerbed alloy

2: Holes with no screws in

3: Sump tray in boot

4: 14 mill spanner under bonnet along with spongey things

5: Engine cover inserts missing (where the cover sits on the pegs, the thing inside has gone, so wobbly)

6: All wheel nut covers missing

7: Seats oily

8: Misaligned bonnet

9: Bits and bobs loose in engine bay

Mine has been into the dealers 5 or 6 times.

Just check the vehicle all around before going in and then same again when picking up.

Name and shame.

But we all know who it is anyway...

if they damage it i will.starts with D

just check for damage before and after , try and make sure you pick it up at a reasonable time i.e. before everybody at the dealership has gone home , that way there will be someone other than a receptionist there to kick off at if there is , god forbid, a damage occurance

How much are they charging you?

I ask because last year, I had mine serviced at an independent garage ( Friend of mine), they asked me why. I told them that It was cheaper (£100 instead of the £140 they wanted), they said I should have bartered !!!

Since when did bartering take place over servicing costs in a main dealership?!!

i was quoted £121.so i'll see if they stick to it !

The garage I bought thefabia from (rayrigg) asked why they never got the service last time so I said was much cheaper at Furness MOT Rayrigg replid if you had let us know that in future we can meet their price. Worth bearing in mind i guess few others may be similar.

picked my car up at 4 this aft and everything went ok !! before i went in i used my spare keys to check inside and under the bonnet.

the car was washed and valeted inside.

just the 1 odd thing,i topped up the windscreen wash this morning using vw windscreen wash which is green.on the passenger floor this aft was a full bottle of vw windscreen wash but this was light blue and it smelt different.

whats this windscreen wash?

Sorry I cant comment RE the screenwash , but glad you got your car back in one piece!

Did they charge you for the screenwash?

I would imagine they charged, but as a bottle of the stuff was left I wouldnt have a big problem with that personally.

Same with dealers that charge by the liter for oil but dont leave you the bottle with the rest, even though it wont take it all

Other more sensible and honest dealerships either charge you for what they've put in, or give you the rest.
