Dealer Verses Me Tomorrow

The car is at the dealer to get the pink ant- freeze installed and the car cleaned. The dealer test drove it all weekend with only water in the coolant. Will be picking it up tomorrow.

Hope it's finally sorted.

When you get it back, give it time to 'enjoy' and then settle back and make your decisions.

It's all been a bit hectic and pressured up to now - a bit of peace and quiet and enjoyment might make you think differently

Just a shame you've had to go through all this hassle :thumbdwn:

I have a 2 yr warranty,3 year Gap and now 2 new back tyres so maybe willkeep it a few years.

to be honest , any drivers chance of getting a full refund are vertually zero

the only time will be if the car is 2 welded together ,or it was a stolen car bought from a dealer

everything else is " fixable"

just as a thought , testing the water system without antifreeze it not the correct test ,as the antifreeze lowers the specific gravity , and it will search out a leak path

get the dealer to put a 50/50 mix in , test it again

I hope you have no more problems with your car , as others have said , once you start enjoying it and stop worrying about problems with it , then you may view it in a different light.

Did you say why you got 2 new back tyres??

when he bought the car the back 2 tyres were only just legal.he complained but dealer said it passed it's mot so must be fine.

tyres are a gift for all the hassle he's had.

I was quite happy until I read your post. The dealer is going to put back the anti freeze tomorrow.

remember the following:

"trade description act"

"sale of goods act"

"trading standards"

Used correctly gets alot sorted out ;)

good luck mate!!

Lets get something straight.

The Sales of Goods act states "Repair or suitable replacement"

No retailer has to give you your money back outside the 14 days. Getting the hump with any retailer will not get you anywhere.

I appreciate that it's not nice when you have issues like this and the dealer really should be trying their hardest to sort them, but I get the impression you have very high if not unrealistic expectations.

Got the car back today with a nice pink colour in the water coolant. plus the two new tyres.

Fingers crossed its a result then fella!

Just keep an eye on the coolant, make sure it stays the same colour... if the level drops do top it up without being overly concerned, it might just be displacing any air in the system. :)

Good stuff , now get out there and drive her!! ;)

I will keep the car for at least 3 years then I will get the all new Getz.

Only get a Getz if you are 100% sure you want to keep it for a good few years. Mine has lost more of it's value in 8 months that a Diesel VW Loses in 3 years:O

My Getz is loosing over £500 a month, so it's quite a false economy if you intend to change every year or so. Nice little car though, i had some probs with my tires but I changed them now.

And as for the magical 5 year warranty, if you read the leaflet carefully actually covers............

Nothing

And you won't need it anyway, because it's a Hyundai and will never break, no matter what you do to it:D

My wife bought a Chevvy Kalos, which is the same sort of crack as the Getz.

It was the top line SX with all the trimmings. Paid £8900 for it OTR. Thought we had a bargin as it was great on paper.

In reality is was a massive bunch of A55. Wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, handled like a shopping trolly and did 36 mpg on a good day. I would describe it as a washing machine on wheels.

The bigger kick in the sack was after 18 months we had enough of it and managed to get rid of it for £5k. It had done 7500 miles.

We caught a cold on that and it was a lesson learnt. I have had enough problems with my VRS to make your hair stand on end, you name it, it's gone wrong. However taken with the fact it's done nearly 60k in two years and I USE my cars to do my job I know that the problems are something that can/will occur with any car.

I have just bought another Skoda.

A Roomster.

I really like the interior.
