car.. is getting stripped :P - feels wrong stripping her down, was just running sweet (pre-RTA), but well it's bent now :(

Still not sure what will happen next ;)

Currently removed:

  • Front bumper - keeping fogs & grill bits
  • Front grill (dechromed)
  • wheel arch liners
  • front mud flaps
  • Suspension at the front put back to standard
  • Standard front wheels refitted
  • Parrot CK3100
  • sound proofing removed except for boot as too hard to do at the moment
  • Forge FMIC removed, Standard SMIC refitted so can use the car
  • Drinks drawer
  • Sump protector + bracket + sound proofing
  • engine cover + sound proofing
  • vRS mats
  • 2 Furbie characters
  • Storage bags etc
  • Warning triangle
  • Part of the boost sensor
  • Part of LT450 garage door opening device ;)
  • Strut brace
  • Xenon units including ballast.
  • Bonnet lifter

Many thanks to Bengie for doing the suspension - he may post a pic later, the front wishbone and drive shaft on the drivers' side are well and truly bent. It's banging at every rotation

It would appear I will be having an argument with the garage that had it last on Monday as the rear light cluster on the driver side has a hole in it now, which it did not have when it went to that garage (I saw the car).

Plenty more left to do, the rear ARB & rear shockers/dampers need to go back on still. One of the Koni FSDs (front driver side) needs to be looked at, it appears to be damaged :( - will find out the options there.

Fortunately doing all this means I can stick handsfree in the Escort soon, and get that ready for the MOT, and get rid of the worst bent stuff before I leave for Holland again :)

.. is getting stripped :P

I may need those spare grille bits off the bumper soon, mate. ;) Glad you're keeping them.

Still wondering what to do - need to speak with our resident experts to work out if transplanting the good bits is an option, guestimate costings etc, and then take it from there :)

Who's been a busy boy then eh!!

Trying hard to do my bit, bengie didnt exactly have an easy job as the suspension is well shot on the driver side. To knock the damper out on that side was a tricky job, but he did it

I am glad you change the title so as I wouldn't get confused.

I was trying to imagine where the warning triangle, bonnet lifter and storage bags would be fitted (if not fitted to a car)

Oh Wiebo. What a shame its not going back on the road. Yours is the best specced Fabia on the site - what options didn't you have on it!?

Ho hum, time to move on. If I were you, knowing a little about your situation, I'd flog all the bits you can, and buy something else. Maybe another vRS fabia - they can be had for £5k and up now!. However, you'd be extrememly lucky to find one with all the options like yours, so can't help thinking you'd always be disappointed...
