Cheers man, you reckon you can get away with standard bolts on ET42?

Sorry for noobish questions

just get some 5mm spacers mate :) youll be fine, try 3mm also

:iagree: - spacers will reduce the offset, add 5mm spacers to a wheel with an offset of 42 will result in a final offset of 37.

Fabia runs fine with offset of 32-38 usually, although people do run a little lower than that, down to 25 I believe. Running a lower offset will also give the car a more agressive stance really, as the wheels will be towards the outside of the arch.

Thanks for all your info! Just considering some BBS RX 16"s for my Fabia.

But then i think the standard wheels look the biz, just needs to be lower to give it a good stance!

Not sure how they'd look, but always worth a go :)

I seem to recall caliper clearance being an issue with these, but this was perhaps with the 312mm brake conversion. Worth trying them out before you commit though.

They would look like this:

I should imagine they would be an "ok" fit.

Hmm, quite nice - a different look certainly :)

With wheels, I'd want a 'spot on' fit, rather than just 'OK' though!

Sorry to bump this thread up again, But i think im going to commit to a mint set of RXIIs on ebay.

Can i just clarify something? Is it definantly a case that with an ET42 offset, I would definantly need spacers? or should they be ok?

If you are going with RXIIs, and they are ET42, they will be the 6.5" wide Mk4 Golf/bora wheels...they'll fit just fine, with no spacers.

If you are going with RXIIs, and they are ET43, they will be the 7.0" wide Mk3 Anniversary wheels, and much rarer...they'll fit just fine too, with no spacers.

You can also run 13mm spacers front and rear with either set...but the fronts look very wide...just right on the back, but a shade too wide on the front, and it'll tramline more.

If you are going with RXs (single pc), and they are ET35, they will be the 7.0" wide BBS aftermarket wheels...they'll fit just fine also...but I've not tried spacers.

With RXs, you will be able to upgrade to a 312mm disc set up if you wish...with no problems.

With RXIIs, you won't be able to upgrade to a 312mm disc set up without work. The calliper WILL hit the inside of the front wheels, so you have to modify (grind away) the callipers to suit. Not ideal.

For the record...I have 4 sets of 7.0 x 16 BBS RXIIs, 1 x set of 6.6" x 16 RXIIs and 1 x set of BBS RX 7.0 x 16...and I've tried all the above conbinations accross my Mk3 GTI and vRS.

312mm S3 brakes behind 7.0 x 16" BBS RXIIs, with modified callipers:

vRS on 7.0 x 16 BBS RXIIs, with 13mm spacers:

Hope this is of help...

Sort of the same question, don't want to start another thread for this.

I've got a 1.4 classic and put on 1.4 Sport alloys. Do I need any spacers or anything? If yes, what's a good place to buy the bits?

If you're replacing your original steels with OEM Skoda alloys from another Fabia you don't need anything - they just bolt on using the same bolts and will be of a suitable offset. If your new wheels are aftermarket you need to find out the offset (ET) and you may need different bolts.

Thanks JulieD, yup, was a straight swap from stock 1.4 classic to stock 1.4 sport alloys, avoiding the aftermarket stuff ;)

SO MUCH GRIP with these though, they're at least 1/3rd wider.

You can make almost anything fit....

Im running ET50 rears with 20 mm adaptors so works out at ET30

and ET55 fronts with 35mm adaptors so works out at ET20

Nice bit of poke :D

Id try those wheels without spacers and see what you think.....

I'd be tempted to run low and put on 20mm so you get a better stance ;)

The spare wheel (16" Steelie) is ET42!

Folk on here have run steelies without spacers!

i have a question...

I don't really understand none of this offset stuff but I'm looking at rota grid drifts which I will need adaptors for I've found some adapters 5x100 to 5x114.3 but theyre 25mm and the rotas are et10 16x8 or 16x7 is this going to be impossible? lol
