Octy flaps

Featured Replies

Right, was cleaning the car this morning and noticed the passenger side front mud flap was loose at the top and about half way down, i think this was caused by it catching on a speed hump over the weekend.

Anyway, i cant see how the flap fastens to the wheel arch, it may be that the to upper most clips have snapped but again i dont know how they fit properly so they could have just popped out of place.

Does anyone know how these things go back on or shall i pay a visit to the dealer !?

They fit as follows:

Starting from the top of the flap:

1)You should have a plastic rivet through the flap into the inner guard.

2) Next you should have two U shaped plastic clips , that clip the flap to the wing.

3) At the botton the flap is held by two torx screws , through the flap into the inner guard.

4) One more torx screw in used to fix the bottom of the flap to the sill - you need to look under the car/sill to see it.

right...

it looks like the U shaped clips are the problem as the rest (rivet and torx screws) are in place and holding fine.

Thing is i cant see how the clips fasten the flap to the wing, its probably me not looking at it right...

Thanks for the reply though

Can you get the clips as spares from a dealer or does this come as a complete set inc the flap !?

Does anyone know the p/n: ?

I'm not sure if you can get the u clips as a serparate part.

All they do is push over the edge of the flap and the wheel arch lip from the inside of the wheel arch , squeezing the two together.

A new pair of genuine flaps is not dear - about

just been out and had another look, the clips were still intact so i eased them off and put them in place securing the flap to the wheel arch between the steel of the arch and the inner plastic wing / wheel arch protector, all is solid once more.

Thanks for the advise though
