Passat mod No.2 pics included.

Featured Replies

Here are pictures of the completed 2nd modification of my Steel Grey Passat.

It was a bit of a marathon in the end but worth it, I think anyway.

The previous owner thought it was a good idea to use super glue to try to fix the passanger side door mouldings better.

The drivers side was as expected and the rear bumper mouldings were clip on items.

The replacements already had the adhesive backing and the holes in the doors lined up with pins on the moulding.

Even my wife who was sceptical things it looks better than expected, although not as cheap a mod as the indicators were it definitely lifts the look of the whole car.

Opinions appreciated, soory about the picture sizes but that seems to be what they come as through Photobucket.

Enjoy!

Have you gone from black to chrome or t'other way round??!!

Black to chrome, the order was strange when I downloaded the pictures but I've put them in order now with a little explanation with each.

Only the S model Passat has black trim the rest of the range has the chrome. Dealer said I was the first person with a B6/3C Passat to have done this modification.

Hi there, car looks good, you must spend ages cleaning it!

That's some mighty fine moddin' you've done there..... Mighty fine.....

Cheers

Dave.

Very nice indeed. Great job

Not really had a chance to get the paint work done thoroughly, so far it's been clayed and waxed but with the weather getting better and I now have access to a rotary polisher and Meg's #80 and #83 it will get the works and a couple of coats of Collinite 915 which should last the winter.

Don't think I'll do any more exteior mods this year but contemplating changing the steering wheel to a 3 spoke and installing a arm rest and different centre consloe from an SE or Sport.

Cheers for comments.

Glad to see its been worth the pain removing the old ones

Looks good that - breaks up the lines nicely

Looks spot on that!

Yep, looks good! No longer looks like a base model! :P

Its a gorgeous colour too. :)

Passats should have lots of chrome, I love the bits on mine, look suprisingly good against the white too! :)

Much better! I can't help thinking that a set of 'higher spec' alloys would finish it off nicely :D

The problem with the alloys upgrade is justifying bthe extra cost when all four tyres are as new and trying to get the 17" Le Mans off the B6/3C Passat Sport is almost impossible unless buying new from the stealers.

The one thing that is making me think twice is whether these wheels that are on it at the moment have the same off set as my VW Bora, I think the tyres may be different anyway (profile).

I might think about it seriously when the tyres need changing but I'll probably be thinking of changing the car by then!
