Those eels are humongous.

Those eels are humongous.

Apparently the 1.5 to 2m long ones are over 100 years old. And they swim all the way from Samoa to NZ after hatching, then after 100 years or so swim all the way back to mate and then snuff it!!

The trip is about 2000km but they travel along the sea bed which could mean they travel ten times that distance or more.

I was listening to the talk :D

Oh, and they lay about 20 million eggs at a time! :eek:
