Would an N75 be covered under Used Approved Warranty?

Featured Replies

Hi chaps,

Firstly, i've been searching for an hour or so and while there are lots of threads about the lovely N75 valve, my concern is whether or not it is covered under warranty.

I bought my lovely black magic octy vRS 6 months ago, just lately its been feeling a bit slow in 3rd, (and other gears more recently) - like a lack of boost. I took the car to the skoda dealer yesterday, and after a day with them the chap tells me it's the N75 valve on its way out, causing the intermittent boosty issue. Anyway the fellow says he'll have to 'call the warranty company' to check it's covered under warranty (which i'd have thought he'd know, it being a popular fault(?) but oh well).

I can't get the work done till next month now, as i'm a busy bee...unless i book it in down London way, which I might depending on your answers. So does anybody know for sure if this valve would be covered under the warranty? Thanks very much in adance of any helpful advice you can give.

Incidentally, I also have the problem of the off-side passenger door not-unlocking 1st time, which i would assume IS covered under warranty. Oh! And not very often at all, sitting in neutral, going for 1st, stick doesn't want to go in/any gear. Clutch once or twice and it works, somebody suggested it's just some gears not meshing occasionally...moh.

It isnt set to unlock only the driver door on first unlock is it? That's an option that you can change on VAGCOM (or the dealer can do it), it might have been set on yours.

Fraid I dunno about the other two sorry :)

Hey thanks for the quick reply ww. I did think that first, but checked and the other doors all unlock, plus sometimes i'm pressing unlock 4-5 times to get that door to unlock!

When at the dealers of course they couldn't get it to happen, and say they can't replace it until they see it, as obviously people love conning Skoda to get new door locking electricy bits! Happens most after it's been sitting for an hour or so, if im in and out at the shops or whatnot, it's normally fine. But anyway, i'm more worried about the N75 so don't let me go on! hehehe

Is it a mk 1 octy I'm guessing it is as its a used car warranty, If so the gear thing is completely normal mine does it every now and then, don't worry about it.

And the if N75 ain't covered don't worry about iirc they cost about £50 and you can change it yourself in minute's if need be.

HTH:)

Thanks Fatty! I'm about to pop out to have a look for a skoda garage i just found that appears a bit closer, see if i can book it in there as it's less hassle to get to. Hopefully the'll be able to answer the warranty question for sure.

Thanks chaps!

The next garage will want a "look" aswell i would think before they do anything

If the supplying dealer has told you it needs an N75 then I would hope that would be enough to get it replaced. I would class it as a mechanical breakdown of a component

Have you tried changing the battery on the remote?

Well I ended up having a quick glance at a MkII, chat with the garage bloke and went to see a 350Z instead hehe.

Erm remote i've not changed battery. I'll try it with t'other remote when i'm back down London way. Though if I understand what you're thinking, would it not mess up other doors also?

Anyway, as you say Fatty, if it's around £50 then i'll just wait and see what they say when I take it in...or call the garage heh.

Thanks for your advice gents
