Hi everyone.

My first post on here so my apologies if this is a regular question.

I'm trying to figure out what my car is worth as I'm expecting to hear that I have a company car on its way within the next 8-10 weeks.

I have a completely bog standard black Fabia vRS, registered new in November 2004, 46k, FSH and in excellent condition inside/out, unmarked alloys etc etc.

The simple question is - how much would/should I expect to get for it as a private sale? The car will be MOT'd before I come to sell it as that is due in November.

...and before anyway says it - I've heard the one about 'It's only worth what someone wants to pay for it!'

As to your question, this vRS with very similar spec and miles to your own just finished on eBay a few minutes ago and sold for £7100.

And given a real world choice I'd probably get a new Mondy if those are the brand limitations...

As for the next vehicle - it will have to be Diesel anyway. At the moment I'm fancying some 'sales rep' style pimpin' in a new Mondeo Titanium with the Sport pack on it.

If I were you, I would chance my arm at around £7500. On a private sale, if someone is interested, they will most likely try and knock you down a bit on the price anyway, so you would be more likely to achieve your £7300 target that way.

When you're quibbling with a buyer over a couple of hundred quid, it will also help your cause if you have a full MOT and a healthy chunk of tax on the car, as if you haven't they will try to use this to shave £££s off the price.

Cheers. Yes, it will have full MOT and tax and I've got a price in mind to advertise it for.

It also comes with a private plate which is quite distinctive as well.

Just hope some bugger will buy it now!
