when did they start useing vw parts

Featured Replies

Hello I was looking on the net and it says VW bought skoda in 2001 but I keep seeing cars for sale that are older that say they have vw engines when did skoda start to use vw engines thank you

The 1.6 Felicia uses a VW engine, however any Felicia uses VW components.

And Skoda joined VAG in April 1991, just beating a bid from Renault who wanted to build the Twingo at the Czech factory.

However it's safe to say that plenty of sellers of older Skodas will try and overstate the amount of VW involvement to make their cars seem more desireable

the mk2 favorits were the first to use vw stuff this being the electrical connectors

Hello thanks for the help is there anywhere that will tell you when they started using vw engines in the 1.3, 1.6 petrol and 1.9 diesel Felicia's thanks

1.3 is allways a Skoda engine

1.6 is allways a VW engine

1.9 is a VW engine with a Skoda gearbox.

1.4 8v in the Fabia is based on the old 1.3 too. :)
