Help-Vibration after cambelt change

Featured Replies

I've just had the cambelt changed on my 130PD

The car used to be silky smooth from 900rpm up but now there is so much vibration I can't bear driving it below 1,500rpmm and have to keep it on boost the whole time - real pain around town its ruined the car.

Anyone know of particular problems or sensitivity to engine mounts to have caused this. Above 1,500 its prety smooth again so I 'm presuming that the timing is right?

Help

you need to return the car to the person who changed the belt ,as they haven't got the pump timing right , and this can leave you with big problems

diesels need to be 100% right ,and you need the correct tools to do the pump timing / lock the engine in correct place etc. , not a job to take on unless you know about diesels -:D

also ,would suggest that you always fit a full cam belt kit ( I work for a firm that makes them ) as its not the belt that goes , but the tensioners

also look at the bottom of the engine to see if the middle bolt holding the sintered

pulley to the crankshaft has been tightened up ( though you dont need to remove this to do the cambelt , sometimes it can come loose )
