need help.... again

Featured Replies

hello all i recently went an bught a k&n induction kit which my friend used on his ford escort and the powerflow back box for it. i was wondering how i would go abouts fitting the induction kit as i know nothing about this. would i have to take out my air filter? help! :(

Depends whether you have got the SPI or MPI version. If it's the MPI, i believe you take the filter and box off and put the induction kit on in its place but as for the SPI, i have no idea as I have the SPI and have been wanting to do the same

well. if you lived anywhere near the rest of england, i might be able to come and help you :P . but know,,, you have to live all the bloody way down there!!! :D :D :D

never mind, lets see what we can do.

firstly, as said befor, it you have an mpi this will not be to hard.

if you have an mpi, you need to strip out the air-box and all the pipes in to it.

then you need to find a way to mount the filter, something to hold it up. there are some studs under the air-box, you could make up a bracket to fix to them and hold the ally bit behind the filter???

then, we need to connect the pipes to the plastic inlet, not knowing the sizes i cant say how there guna fit together, but i'm sure its nothing a big hose clip cant sort.

bottom line is your guna have to get creative, so leave your self plenty off time to do it.

good luck, will sound abit meaty with the induction on it

:iagree:

Photos of the throttle body and the side of the engine bay with the standard air cleaner in it might help me have an idea too.
