Do you have to take the whole front bumper off??

Or can you do it without that?

Hope someone can help,

woops...headlights mate

No they can be changed with bumper in-situ, Easier if you're blessed with small hands!

Sidelights W5W

Dipped H7

Main H3

Battery gets in the way on nearside, Be prepared to lose temper & skin off knuckles.

Fuel filter hampers on offside esp. indicators

Thanks for that:thumbup:

I believe bumper off is only if you have xenons. For normal ones it is possible, but expect to lose some skin in the process!

Chris

dont know why they make it so hard to change :P

Ha oh never mind, Ill prepare myself to shed some skin then!

So you take it to a dealer then they will rip you £40 for the privilege of changing them.

I would agree there :) but a very bad design flaw :(

Trust me there are worst offenders

It's all about the packaging Big engine, Small engine bay. :thumbdwn:

You can change the bulbs on a Xenon equiped car without taking the bumper off

But it's tighter than a Ducks chuff:eek:

Never thought i'd hear myself saying this, "Ford got it right with the outgoing Mondeo"

2 pins hold each h/light in place. Remove pins voila, h/light out, change bulbs, replace h/lights, insert pins. done and dusted in about 5 mins inspired piece of designing!

IIRC on Xenon-equipped Fabias the bulb type for the high beam is different from the non-Xenon ones. I would check but my headlights are in the flat in the UK and I'm in Holland

Indeed,

Sidelights: W5W

Dipped: D2S

Mainbeam: H7

Plus it means when it's pi$$ing down with rain in the wettest day in April, you're in the middle of nowhere and some kindly passer by points out one of your dipped beam bulbs is out, you can stay pretty dry by doing the bulb swap in the car

If you're fitting HID to a car that is currently halogen, it is now illegal.....
