Good Day again.

A5 Octavia with the Audience radio/6CD.

One night I turned it on, and although the radio worked, the screen did not light up. All other illum. worked.

I turned the radio off, then on again, and the panel lit up and has behaved ever since.

Is this a ghost in the machine or an intentional feature akin to Saab's "Night Panel"?

Nah, the headunits are well known for being temprimental, same issues with VW as well.

Yep, same thing happened to me. typical computer equipment.

any idea what the "AIM" button does (top r/h)

mine kept going on and off last weekend just after the display went mad and started displaying tons of foriegn characters and gooblegook. turn off, switch engine off and then back on did the trick.

The AIM button plays back the last 10 Traffic Reports, which it records automatically. So if you realise, half way through one, that its relevant, wait till it finishes then press AIM. You also have the option to delete individuals or All stored reports. I think its brilliant.
