Rejecting a car any advice

Featured Replies

I'm sorry to say I may have to reject my Fabia estate after just 9 months, the engine developed a fault 3 weeks ago and it has been at the dealers for 17 days. They have made many changes to the top of the engine but the fault is still there and they are now talking about passing the car over to head technicians in Milton Keynes.

To be honest they have been the advisers all along and they still have no results so I don't see how they will improve things and I am concerned about my legal position if I allow this to happen, will I still be able to reject the car then.

So what is involved if I reject, I understand I need to write to the dealer principal, but will they supply a car whilst sourcing a new vehicle, and what sort of replacement should I expect.

I have to say this whole experience has tainted my views on cars, this is the first new car I have bought in 23 years of driving and it is certainly the worst.

My appreciation for any advice in advance, Colin

After that length of time you are probably way too late to reject it

Yes, almost certainly to much time has passed to reject the car. The dealer is doing their best to resolve the issue you have, you may just have to persevere until the problem is resolved. I assume they have provided you with a courtesy car.

Six months seems to be the cut-off, I'm afraid - it's all here...
