Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

Just wanted to let you know....

I had a Fabia just under a year ago and chuffed wi it!

The other day I was on the sliproad merging onto a motorway.

The first and second lanes were busy on this motorway so I put my foot down to get into the third lane.

I have never experienced acceleration like it!

I am no boy racer!

I do know that threads on this site relating to what I have just mentioned are usually frowned upon.

But just got to let people know this.

Regards

You've had it a year and thats the first of you experiencing the accelration!?

Must try harder ;)

Noble M12 GTO3 (3.6s)

Ruf (Porsche) 996 Twin Turbo (3.1s)

Also a Ferrari 360 Modena, 360 Challenge Stradale, Impreza 22B, Evo 5 Gp.N Roger Clarke, Sierra Cosworth RS500, Litchfield Impreza Type 20 and a Honda Integra Type R Supercharged.

I believe - I looked at Pistonheads, might have been your 'modest' Meet Review :P and saw someone had spent £60 just on fuel

I could do that in one afternoon in the Dales ! 15-18mpg when 'on it', under 12 on track. However, I did drive from Cornwall to Leeds on one tankfull, 350 miles, averaging 33.75mpg, and 'my God' it was dull !

You ever hear of this new thing - 'Carbon Footprint' ?

Just filled up Fabby with £45 - and I winced, and that was for 443 miles :o

Try saying 'Global Warming' without someone mentioning TAX ! :finger: Biggest political scam ever IMHO. Ice core samples have proven that historically, CO2 levels rise around 800 years into a period of sustained global warming, and within 200 years of the introduction of excess CO2 the planet has always cooled giving credence to the concept that CO2 is actually a global 'COOLING' gas. The planet has been much hotter than it is today, and also much cooler, and all without the intervention of man. The fact that we live in close proximity to a star which is inexorably heating up means that this planet can do nothing but warm, and there is nothing better to base future taxation on than a 100% mathematical certainty. Agriculture produces more 'so-called' greenhouse gas than transportation, but where are we looking for 'so-called' green alternative fuels ? If you want to make a difference for the better to redress tha damage that man has and is doing to the world, then look at ways of reducing the population, but a politician will never consider that as less people means less tax-payers. Recycle, I do, and it's sensible. Reduce your fuel use, that's why I now drive a diesel, to keep my money away from the lying b*****d politicians. But don't base your life and beliefs on the rantings of corrupt liars FFS.

Phew

:orb_not_w

Leg was only I pulling

BTW Conservative party seems to need some good politicians. Erm, well any politicians.

Can I ask, at nights do you work at local College - lecturing :P

Nah, sat in front of an Apple Mac making sure you get next months copy of Top Gear (which has a good review of the new Evo X and a bit about the forthcoming RS6 V10 Twin Turbo (THUD - smelling salts for David Camerloon)) amongst other magazines. Teach driving during the week.

Go on

Apple Mac - oh, you're one of those :P

Yeah, smug g!t sat there on a machine with no virus protection that's run faultlessly for 8 years with no upgrades or servicing, extremely productive and content with my attractive and friendly, easy to use interface and stable rock solid OS  One of those

Yeah, smug g!t

Yup, that cannot but fail to rise to the bait :P

Considered Mac long time ago - when it used to be xtra expensive for anything.

Was Atari - but as high spec as you could be - then bit the bullet. So, yes, had to learn the hard way (as the Atari platform was v.similar to the Mac i.e. no stoopid Registry etc, plant a program in a folder and run it - end of story), reinstalls a go go.

Now, though, anyone can get Mac :P and you don't need much nouse...... :P :P :P

Still a bit more expensive than equivelent PeeCee's, but they last so much longer and work so much more reliably that they're worth it. My lappy at home is 8 years old, and although she struggles a bit with video, she hasn't missed a beat in all that time. Couldn't tell you the last time an app crashed, and the OS simply NEVER does. Trying to justify a new 24" iMac to the missuse at the mo', but I'd settle for a new Core2Duo Mini as a media server through the plasma TBH :D

With the Atari it encouraged you to do some 'poking' so at least when you came up against PC stoopidity you had some idea. Crazy crazy system - and the amount of 'legacy' etc that has to be catered for is insane. 98 was buggy as hell, Millenium lasted approx 2 moths, Win 2k was a godsend (once you got the drivers), XP very good. But above all essential to know what you're doing (when in advanced mode) and have exceptional cloning software.

So, will stick with it.

Sides, I can't afford xxx quid on an afternoon drive-out :P

I'm  strictly legitimate and unemployed, and old, and .................. (yawn) , getting peed :o
