I have just palced an order for the Fabia 2 1.9 TDi in Satin Grey for a new dealership Progress Skoda who have given me a good deal. They are based in Letchworth.

The black side trims are not standard as on the Fabia 3. I have asked the dealer to quote me for fitting but as yet no price. Would you have these side strips fitted? Anyone been quoted a good price?

As a VW fan & owner of no other brand for the last 10 years I wonder what sort of depreciation Fabia 1.9 TDi Ambiente owenrs have suffered with the previous incarnation?

I feel the Fabia 2 is well built & although liking the black interior of the Fabia 3 I honestly think the residual benefit of a Fabia 3 is negligible.

The only downsize is the Fabia 2 is losing out in the looks department to the Suzuki Sport which I so nearly bought - but decided not too a the engine is so loud at 70 mph & fuel consumption not great, but the car looks outstanding compared to the more bland ' poeples car' Skoda.

Black side strips and black interior are now available as options on the Fabia2 though, which your dealer should have told you, unless your car is from stock?
