maxidot options and coming home function

Featured Replies

hi, is there somewhere i can find a detailed explanation of what the various maxidot menu options mean? They are not in the car handbook in any detail.

I have more-or-less figured most of them out, but am stuck on the 'door' options - one which says 'single door', another 'auto open' and another 'auto close'. I assume this is something to do with locking rather than actual door opening / closing?:)

any advice would be welcome...

Also, my car (vRS TDI MY2007) doesn't seem to exhibit the 'coming home' lighting (where the headlights stay on 30 seconds)... instead the parking lights just stay on when the headlights are left in the 'on'position with the ignition off.... Can this be re-programmed or is the 'coming home' lighting a factory-fit option? (I don't have the auto-dimming mirror).

Handbook suggests you can also change the illumination period "for vehicles fitted with fog lights" - but again, this option is not in my maxidot menu... Is there any way to add this functionality to my car?

re maxidot functions try looking here Adobe Web Photo Gallery

re doors you are right "all" means all doors open with single push of remote "single" just drivers

Auto close = lock when car is over 10mph

re coming home do you have light assist and rain sensing ?

re coming home do you have light assist and rain sensing ?

many thanks for the help..

no - i don't have light assist/rain sense.... can it be retro-fitted? It's something i would have preferred if I was ordering the car from new... :(

I also forgot to ask, what is "conv. mode" (convenience mode?) for the "passenger" and "driver"?

thanks

nik

auto open is the doors unlock when you switch off ignition and remove key

I also forgot to ask, what is "conv. mode" (convenience mode?) for the "passenger" and "driver"?

They're not the most descriptive names are they!? I eventually realised this affects whether the one-touch up/down elec windows work for just the driver, or driver and passenger :)

The leaving home function can be enabled on a non light assist car using VAG-COM.
