Can anyone help me with this?

Just fitted my new 16" vRS wheels yesterday (with a helping hand from Wardy who I bought them off), but my petrol flap only gives me pressures for up to 15" wheels.

I think the figures normally quoted for running them on a vRS are 2.3 BAR (33 PSI) front and 2.1 BAR (31 PSI) rear, but given the fact that the 1.4 16V engine is considerably lighter than the 1.9 diesel lump, I figured I should shave a touch off these. I was thinking maybe 2.2 (32) and 2.0 (30)? Does anyone know where I could find an official confirmation of this? What do other people with this combo run?

the figures you quote should be ok as a starting point , there won't be any official confirmation of this as a Fabia with your engine never had 16" rims fitted AFAIK, if it feels a bit odd raise or lower the pressures as required , but don't go mad with the changes , little bit at a time

Tire pressure is related to the weight of the vehicle and has nothing to do with the size of the wheels or tires. Personal handling preferences and adapting to individual driving style introduce the variables.

Agree with the above - try setting it at the standard 15" settings and then try playing with the pressures until you find one you like. Higher pressures will tend to stiffen the sidewalls of the tyres, but the flip side is that you reduce the contact patch (and wear out the middle tread on the tyre).
