Newbie after Roomster info

Featured Replies

Hi,

Mrs Andorra and I are looking to buy a Roomster. Our local dealer is offering quite a reasonable deal on a (more or less) fully loaded 1.9 TDI Roomster 3 demonstrator.

Anything to look out for. Reckon we can grow to love the quirky styling, so that's not an issue.

Any known faults?

What about resale value? - mind you - we generally keep our cars at least 4 or 5 years.

Any other comments? Apologies if this info is already posted.

Many thanks

Nothing really to look out for, just check the condition of the car if it's an ex-demo. Kerbed alloys etc.

As for the quirky looks, I think the immense practicality of the Roomster makes up for that.

There are no known faults that you should be aware of although some of the earlier TDis suffered with the Diesel Particulate Filters getting clogged, but I think that's sorted now.

already spotted a scratched wheel - if I get it, is it fair to ask dealer to repair before delivery?

No harm in trying, or start deducting the price of repair or replacement from the asking price.

I am really happy with my roomster, no issues what so ever, cept the poop poop horn!

Welcome to Briskoda

It's very early to have much info on resale and faults. I wouldn't imagine there would be any great issues with resale, they are good little cars. If you did have any faults then they would be covered by the balance of the manufacturer's warranty which would be transferred to you.

Welcome to briskoda,

Thanks

hi, im just getting used to a roomster scout myself. great cars and love the versitility too!

the 1.9TDi engine is a good one. i would try and get the wheel repaired as part of the deal, cant hurt to ask!!

^^^^ So it's not the one you just sold then.

Thanks for the help and welcomes everyone:)

CD player doesn't seem to like all my MP3 CDs though ("disc error" message), even the ones that play with no trouble in our other car. This won't be a factor in making a decision whether to buy though, I just thought I'd mention it!

And if that's all I can find fault with after a two day test drive, it's looking like a pretty decent car!

Guess I'm a fully paid up member then - we went for the Roomster!

Looking forward to getting involved with Briskoda community.

Hello and welcome. I bought an ex demonstrator octavia, my present car. A couple of the alloys had scuffs and they repaired them foc before I picked it up. Your dealer should do the same I think. Definately ask. Enjoy your new car.

dealer fixed the alloys (spotted two other wheels with slight scratches as well!)

The general rule I use when buying a car is ask for eveything and be prepared to walk away, the sales person expects it!

Hope you enjoy your new Roomster as much as I do mine.
