Buzz Off

Featured Replies

Had my '05 vRS for a month now, and lovin every minute, (even better now my new wheel bearing has freed up some drag)

However since day one, ive noticed when i open my drivers door after unlocking i get a short buzz/similar sound coming from the engine bay. only lasts a second or two, then stops. And its not the fuel primer as that happens when the key gets turned to ign.

Any help guys and gals?

It is the fuel pump priming. They do it when the drivers door is opened and i think when the ignition is turned on.Very annoying imo but it stops you from just jumping in and driving off with out priming the pump first.

cheers mate. cant wait for my RS4 alloys, FMIC, remap to be done

The FMIC isnt needed BTW for just a remap, other mods, possibly.

didnt mean it in that way, just thought it would aid turbo/engine efficiency. and looks cool!!! maybe with the vRS symbol being somehow put on the front of it? and gonna get the carbonio CAI and forge 007. sound ok, or any ideas yourself?

Well, the intercoolers are something like £6-800 quid alone for a custom fit one such as a Forge. The stock intercooler is alright for a remap, you can vent the back of the plastic wheel arch liner with a drill to provide some extra airflow for the standard intercooler. For the extra few horsepower you might achieve, it isnt worth it in my eyes.
