I've got the indicator counting down, but according to the mileage, it should be about 2_000 miles from needing service. Last service (main dealer) was October last year.

So does the computer track date serviced, and produce the indicator on when you'll reach the service time, using actual mileage to run the countdown? Or does the oil condition sensor still activate the indicator in fixed service mode?

I'm curious, not complaining, unless the computer's doing something it shouldn't.

It will flag up at 10k or a year.

I thought as much. So I can expect a reminder one month or one thousand miles before the year, but it'll show up as a mileage count-down. It was trying to understand how it should work, in case it was working wrongly.

And Steve, yes that would mean that you could "lose" several hundred miles without the car actually doing anything.
