Skoda badges have seen better days!

Featured Replies

Hi good old soviet here.

Both the tailgate and bonnet Skoda badges on my Octavia LX need replacing I think, as it looks like the internal silver paint is coming away at the back, and the tailgate one looks like it has condensation in side of it.

Would any one on the Forum know of the best place, and cheapest if possible to buy replacements. Obviously they must be of the right diameter for a 2002 Octavia LX.

And what would members advise using to stick replacements on with.

I thought of aryldite, but I am not sure if this would damage the rear of the new ones.

Thanks

Soviet:)

For sticking the badges on, you can buy rolls of the self-adhesive foam tape off eBay too.

ive bought 2 off this seller on ebay quick delivery (dayafter)

both front and rear the same so you just need 2

be careful taking of the front one as the plastic chrome part of the grill is thin

probably not much from dealers but i couldnt be bothered to go

Skoda Octavia/Felicia/Fabia Front Grille/Tailgate Badge - eBay Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 04-Oct-07 19:23:41 BST)

Hope this helps. Item says it comes with adhesive, so I presume it is supplied as standard with the badge.

Hi, and many thanks to you.

I would not of thought of looking on E-Bay for some, and you have done me a good favour. They are quite reasonably priced as well. I will order them.

Hi many thanks for your help and advice.

It is good to know that you have used this seller, and received them by return of post. I will be careful with the plastic part of the grill.

I am also the lazy one, about going to the dealer.

Many thanks

Cheers

The bugger has put the prices up lately, think I only paid 4 or 5 quid. They come with a sticky backing. Some dental floss or fishing line would be ideal to slice through the adhesive sponge on the current ones and lots of IPA alcohol or turps to get the remainding crap off and stick the new ones on to a clean base so they adhere well.

Hi, and how is that lovely City of yours today. Come the revolution I will make it the scouscer capital, of GB instead of dreary London. Best football team as well. Come on you reds!!!!

He must have known that I needed some, and put the price higher. Many thanks for the tips that you have given me, for removing the existing ones. it is good to know that they come with sticky backs

Cheers, all the best to you.

Slightly off topic:

If I were to remove the Superb badges from the boot, what is the chances of the paint being damaged underneath?

When I had the tailgate of the Octy repainted, the Octavia badge was left off and I now quite like the clean lines and fancy the same look for my Superb - when I get it back! Its also a lot easier to keep clean without the fidly badges.
