Have been looking for a permanent live at the tailgate end so I can wire the luggage compartment light so it comes on via the tailgate switch. A multimeter on the 8 pin connector behind the near side panel has not found a live. All the wires I have found are labelled with the letter prefix "A".

I have replaced the empty torch bracket with a rechargeable torch with a bracket that cost a tenner from wilkinsons. I wired up an inline fuse and cig lighter socket to the tail light positive connector that the luggage light was on. Hopefully the idea is that when the lights are on, the torch will charge and be ready for use in the dark. So that's better than nothing

It's not really important anyway, but those luggage compartment lights seem pointless (to me) without a permanent live to them.

I think the boot light only works if the side lights (or headlights) are on. You'll have to rig up a separate 12V feed to do what you want to do.

I got the impression one of the wires to what was the original boot torch may have been a permanent live. Mayaswell leave it and make-do with the torch I put in, enough bodged electrics in there already
