The service indicator on the dashboard showed the word 'OIL' yesterday, and as I had noticed a few spots of oil under the car over the past few weeks, I presumed that it was running low. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of nowhere and by the time I got to a garage to buy some oil the EPC light was on. I added the oil, but I have overfilled it by about a cm. The EPC light did not come on again.

Anyway, I'm going to take it to the garage which is about 1 mile away. Will it be okay to drive it this short distance?

Sorry, What are you going to the garage for? Because you want to drain a 1cm of oil?

Surely 1cm will be fine,

either that or do it yourself. sump plug out, etc

1 cm isn't even worth worrying about. And any decent garage should be able to tell you this.
