I've b*ggered my Skoda

Featured Replies

I should explain. Turning into a road near my house I hit an open manhole, denting the front offside rim and blowing the tyre. I changed the tyre with a mates help, and continued.

However, I now find that Felicia (yes, that's my car name. Original, eh?) does not steer straight, but rather pulls to the left. Also, when the steering wheel is straight Felicia steers to the right so I have to drive sort of lopsided. Does anyone know how much it would cost to fix the tracking and buy a new rim plx?

Felicia + open manhole = A potentially costly mistake!!!

4WA + correction of front only was £25 IIRC.

Woo!! That's not too bad! I was expecting, like a hundred pounds!

We all hit pot holes and some come off worse than others.

Ussually as above, get the wheels aligned.

Oh! Welcome to the forum:)

as above chap, if they are simply adjusting the front it shouldnt be too much cash. as for a wheel, how about a local scrappy? my local one had a few felicas in there and they dont normally charge too much for a wheel.

i had the full works on my car at a place called elite, they got the car sorted by adjusting EVERYTHING it was the best 90 odd quid ive ever spent!! :)

Unfortunately it was a private road...eep!:o

make sure you get the steering and suspension checked for damage , you could of very easily bent the steering arm , track rod or lower suspension arm

Ooof, that sounds expensive!

Plus... you took your skoda to the nurburgring? I've always wanted to do that. Unfortunately, mine's steering a bit like a male fashion designer at the moment....(not very straight).

Sure you will get it sorted soon (straight answer) :)

Top rate suggestion; Something similar happened to one of my Company's cars a while back; I wrote to the council with receipts for a wheel and tyre and about four months later got a cheque back.

Be thankful you don't have big alloys with low profile tyres; now that WILL cost you hundreds of pounds.
