Another Cambelt Question

Featured Replies

Guys and gals

A dillema for you all. Ive owned my octy vrs for a month or so now, and going to be uprating my wtaer pump from plastic impeller to metal, as per recommendations on the site. And might as well get my belt replaced at the ame time (85k on first belt....i think anyway). However when looking through vagparts onlines store, i noticed both cambelt kits for sale......and a cam chain for the AUQ engine code.

Now iirc the octy has a belt, but my engine code is AUQ. Is it just mk4 golfs that had chains, or is this chain something completely different:confused:

The engines have both the cam belt drives one of the cams and then there is a cam chain which drives between the 2 cams.

R32 alloys look ace.

You only need the cambelt kit, chain is pretty much left alone unless there is a problem.
