Engine Management Light On

Featured Replies

So I am sat here waiting for Skoda Assist/RAC to come out.

The car started and ran but because it has happened previously then I thought it time to get it fixed.

In the past a very nice man with VAG-COM has helped me out and it has always been something to do with the Inlet Manifold Runner.

I guess I will see what Skoda have to say.

Nice man from the RAC came out, fired up his portable VAS and I have error codes up for the Intake Manifold Runner basic settings and also the Cruise Control.

He tested all the bits and is pretty sure I need new cruise stalk and for Intake Manifold Runner did some adaptation and said if it happens again to get it changed.

All in all a pleasant experience and as my car is due a service pretty soon looks like they will have some extras to do. ;)

You really need to get that Manifold Runner sorted Ian. I think you are not the only one whom uses your local dealer that has the same problem.

Keep adapting it and getting you going again is only a short term solution.

Cruise stalk is probably the age old issue of the faulty stalks, yours is factory fit isn't it.

Yes the cruise is factory fit and that will get sorted when it is in for a service.

The Manifold Runner has caused problems in the past. I was fairly sure that is what it was this time so I called Skoda Assist.

Now I can go to my dealer and say this has appeared so even if they don't replace it this time then next time they probably will next time which given current failure rates wont be long. ;)
