P*ssed off with Dean of Dumfries - need advice

Featured Replies

I bought a Fabia Sport 18 months ago and the spoiler has changed colour from the rest of the car (yellow). I reported it to my dealer, Dean of Dumfries, 6 weeks ago and have constantly been fobbed off with "the warranty guy is off" or "I'll ring you back" or "Skoda must have lost the paperwork".

1) How long should I expect to get a straight answer

2) Should I tell them "sod off I'll take it up with Telford Skoda in Carlisle"

I'm at my wits end, all i want is someone to tell me what is happening, but they won't even do that. If they've forgotten to file the claim - which they say they haven't - I would appreciate them being honest enough to admit it, then we can make progress. But nothing - I've dealt with them for years, had 3 cars from them and used to recommend them to everyone, but I just feel like I'm being ignored.

Any advice?

Try phoning Skoda customer services , though they can also be a useless shower.

Failing that phone up and alternative dealers and speak to the service manager and see what they say

I'd just take it somewhere that is willing to do the work and vote with your feet :D

I plan to - they have until Friday, then I'll ring em and issue my ulitmatum, either admit whats going on, or shove the dealership and I'll go to Telfords in Carlisle!

Thx for the advice buddies :D

Well, after blowing my top at the service manager, and a bit of help from my partner's boss (he works for a Toyota garage and they own the Skoda dealer in Dumfries) - I got a call the next day - apparently Skoda had 'finally replied' and were ok'ing a brand new spoiler!

Bit of a coincidence, but I'm happy! They need th car for 2 to 3 days, so are giving me a courtesy car. I can rest easy now!!!
