Keeping vRS interior clean...

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any good tips for keeping the seats/carpet clean in a vRS?

I've heard Scotchguard mentioned somewhere, does it work?

What possessed Skoda to use such light coloured fabrics? It's bound to get mucky in no time.

Sorry if this has been dealt with already, I'm new to these parts.

Xizor.

I use 1001 carpet cleaner on the carpets, They still look like new after nearly 2 years.

The seats though are a different ball game, I have yet to find something that cleans and does not dry leaving hideous marks in the fabric. I tried to clean my drivers seat once and it ended up looking worse than before I started.

I coated all the grey bits with Simonez Teflon and so far so good. I don't really think it prevent things from getting dirty but stops dirt from getting ingrained i.e. helps with the cleaning.

Our toddler dropped some chocolate on the back seat and that came out no worries:thumbup: Wasn't a great deal of it but chocolate doesn't need alot to stain.

Also use baby wet wipes to clean the leather.......handy as there's always a good supply in the car...for the baby of course.:p

Cheers.

Go to Boots and buy some houshold ammonia solution. Make some up in a bowl of warm water and get the cloth slighty damp, not too wet and give the seats/door covering/carpets a gentle rub over. Leave doors open for a while while it dries off, we didn't find it left water marks and looked very clean. Its good on leather too we used to use it on our Jag XJ8 which had vary pale leather seats which got dirty easily.

Also Simoniz Dri-cleen fabric cleaner is good for mats/carpet.
