I stumbled upon the site a couple of weeks ago looking for info on the new Skodas.

I am an American civilian and working in Germany for the US Goverment. I have been happily married to my wonderful wife for 21 years. Motorcycles are my first love, I have a two wheel addiction.

My first Skoda was a 2000 Octavia wagon with the 1.9 tdi motor. It was absolutely bulletproof. I just sold it a few weeks ago with just shy of 350,000 kilometers on the clock.

I just plopped down some cash for the new one today, and I pick it up next week. A 2007 Octavia Wagon (you guys call it the estate...right?) with the 2.0 140 hp diesel motor.

The car is loaded and I got a pretty sweet deal on it. I am looking foward to participating in the board and learning some more about my new Octavia, especially the Nexus system in the car, it looks a little intimidating.

Anyone know where I can get a owners manual in English, my German isn't so good. Actually, I will take anything about this car in English I can get my hands on.

I'm sure one of the Brits could provide you with the part number of the English version of the owners manual, which I'm sure can be ordered through the German dealer system. Best of luck with your new "wagon" : ) I'm sure you'll enjoy both the 140 HP TDI and the DSG box : )

RE: Manuals in English - I know that a UK publishing company, Haynes, publishes service and repair manuals for all sorts of vehicles including Skoda and their content covers basic owner / operator information as well as the techie / oily stuff. Whether they have offerings for recent LHD autobox oilburners, I can't say, but try amazon.com, amazon.de, amazon.co.uk and / or a quick web search.
