Re-coding a 2001 Fabia with VAG-Com

I was trying to re-code a 2001 Fabia 1.9TDI Eleganz (or something similar) today and I couldn't access the Module 46, to set the one touch locking, bleep on arming etc.

Any ideas why not?

VAG-Com found the other ECUs (ABS, Engine etc) but couldn't find Mod 46.

Do the earlier Fabias need to be treated differently when it comes to re-coding?

Any help greatly appreciated...

Was it an Elegance? If it was then it should have factory CDL so should have control unit (46).

That's the one...

I tried scanning it for ages...but couldn't connect to 46.

Maybe a problem with the comms link wiring...as it just wouldn't find it.

All other modules were fine, just no luck with mod 46.

Ahh well..he'll have to do without.
