Replace speedo unit?

Featured Replies

Can i exchange speedo units in the dash pod?

I have seen a dash pod on ebay for £20 and want to get it and see if it will fix my not being able to set the hour on the clock and the rev counter and now my dicky fuel gauge but want to put my speedo unit (to keep my miles) into it.

Is this possible, when i had mine out last it looked like it just unscrewed fron the unit?

Thanks

Anybody??? I wanna get the dials before they sell... they dont come up very often on ebay!!!

Thanks

As far as I know all gauges and rev counters are removable and replaceable. To save yourself the hassle though, you could simply take a note of the miles at change on both clocks. It doesn't matter unless you're selling the car on really.

Thats true... i could just do that... so i would have a not of engine change and speedo change... lol

Dont plan on selling just yet... think im gonna run her into the ground!

Thanks... have oredred the clocks anyway...

yeah all of the dashpods are interchangeable, and also the individual guages are too, although on some cars the rev counter wont work because it's not wired up to the ecu

Will see when i get the new clocks i suppose.

Have already tried a different rev counter unit in there and still doesn't work.

Kicks in when engine reving quite hard but only works from 4,000 to 4,500 rpm then stops, then drops down quickly to bottom rest once revs drop again.

So i have no idea what the engine is idling at and when im getting near the red-line. lol
