Is that a block in fuel supply

Featured Replies

Hello. I am a new member to the group.

I own a fabia, bought when it was about 4 years 02 reg.

Has done 53k on the clock now.

There was a problem with mileage the dealers checked and have changed the engine(£1500 on warrenty) that was 9 months back.

Over the last 6 months I notice that during normal driving the rev counter flips to zero and baback to what it ever it was doing for that speed. During which I am thrown against the sttring wheel(depending on the speed),but it is very alarming.

The dealers are not able to find anything wrong.

It happens at all speeds, during normal drive and nothing being done to clutch. gear, brakes.

Have any of you got what it could it be? Any ideas is it safe to drive it anymore? Passesd MOT No problem

Any ideas will be appreciated

sounds like an intermittant electrical problem , cutting all power to the engine electrics , hence being throw against the steering wheel because the engine is momentarily not running ,

as to the cause of this fault , get the garage to check all the electrics , connectors etc and hope they find it , without too much cost involved

I would get the cam belt changed "like yesterday" or the oil pump

Seriously get it checked out

Yeah it was years ago and on a ford 100e but it was the cam snatching before it finally siezed :-(

Is it a petrol engine?, if so it could be the fuel pump relay, which will not show a fault when then the engine is checked for fault codes. This failing intermittently will cause the symptoms that you describe.
