It seems to be fixed now though, and please tell me how I am in a bad mood for just reminding in a POLITE manner that to type in CAPS is considered to be shouting?

Sorry, i did'nt realise it was classed as shouting, i guess it just was'nt the answer i was expecting, i thought this was a forum where people helped each other on car matters as we all share the same core interest 'we love our Skodas', ive taken on board what you've said and for some reason this website seems to be changing it for me now, which is a bonus as i really did'nt realise there was typing etiquette to be followed. Thanks for your advice it's a shame it's not abt cars!!

It just makes it easier to read, and for people to offer the advice that you are seeking, and reference to if Edge oil is ok in your car, there is a search button where you can find all the oils as advised by "The Oilman" who is a site sponsor, and that way you cannot get wrong information.

It also gives all the spec numbers of all oils that are suitable for your car.

It might also help if it was posted in the Octavia section, and not first time members section.

Cheers, i've taken it on board, had a good year carping? as its been fairly grim up north this year, im obsessed also, gonna hopefully put everything right this weekend though at Selby three lakes chasing the ever elusive lucy (41lb), your'e spoilt rotten down there for carping, lucky man! What plugs do you use in your car???

Heather out of Yateley and 92lb cat in Dreamlakes.

See I'm a nice person really...........LOL

Currently using Denso Iridium SKV20RZ8's as the car is modded.

You might get a quicker answer in future if you post in the maintenance section and not in the First Time Visitors section.

Welcome to the forum. :)

There are some posting guidelines here:

BRISKODA - The Skoda Forum and Community - FAQ: BRISKODA.net Forum Rules and Terms which cover such things as posting with CAPS switched on - it might be worth having a read in case there are other areas you might not be familiar with.

And yes, this is a forum for people to help each other on car-related matters, but if your communication is difficult to read people are less likely to take the time to read it and help. :)

Started off on the wrong foot did'nt we? I pulled out a 110 lb dog out of my local water recently that had been shot by the local gypo's!! Like i say it can be grim upnorth! lol ! I bought my car 5k ago from my local seat dealer, i took it back due to the funny idling and i asked for new plugs to be fitted, they'd never come across it before, apparently they fitted them, but i'm not so sure, the super four prong plugs did slightly improve my last cars performance in every way, is it possible they could improve my cars performance i.e fuel efficiency, as it has got a slowly worse recently, i don't think they changed the plugs and they're on there way out. I am going to be getting my car mapped in the next couple of weeks to approx 220bhp and ive got a pipercross filter on so maybe it could be 225Bhp, ive also got the opp' to buy a neuspeed turbo intake for fairly cheap (£75) but not so sure of the gains i believe you only gain approx 3-5 brake and don't really wanna be making any noticable mod's on the engine. Your ob' the guy in the know by the looks of things any advice would be greatly appreciated, ive copied and pasted what they say abt the super four spark plugs, please also advise if poss!

The new Bosch Super-4 outperforms conventional spark plugs in every situation. It uses state-of-the-art 'surface-air-gap' technology, and features four thin ground electrodes with one pointed, silver-plated centre electrode. This enables the ignition spark to choose the best path for reliable ignition, and according to the load placed on the engine.

· Increased Acceleration: Air-fuel mixture deposits occur in driving primarily during heavy acceleration. The Super-4 spark plug from Bosch with increased ignition reliability prevents misfiring and therefore guarantees improved acceleration. In a trial, acceleration from 19 to 75 mph in third or fourth gear resulted in 0.4 s gain in each case. The acceleration distance decreased by five meters, providing driver and passengers with improved safety during overtaking.

· Less chance of misfiring: Bosch 'surface-air gap' technology ensures a more even wear of the electrodes. This, in turn, leads to a more reliable spark. Since the probability of a spark choosing one of the eight possible paths is equal, wear on the ground electrodes is distributed evenly over all four electrodes.

· Better cold starting performance: Thanks to the improved low-temperature behaviour and self-cleaning feature, up to three times as many cold starts are possible than with conventional spark plugs. Environmental protection and protection for the catalytic converter The improved cold start behaviour and increased ignition reliability even in the warm-up phase increases fuel combustion and thus reduces HC-emissions. This also has the effect of extending the service life of the catalytic converter.

· Greater Spark Power: The spark in the Super 4 loses less power than the spark in a conventional spark plug due to the four thin ground electrodes (less resistance). Spark plug efficiency therefore increases because the air/fuel mixture has up to 40% more power available for every ignition.

Cheers Vin
