Had the windscreen chip repaired yesterday by Autoglass, was told that it would be an almost invisible repair, when the job was completed it looked almost invisible and was told its appearance would iimprove. However the chip now looks worse, almost to the point that it looks like it did before repair. Has anyone else had a repair, and what were the results like?:confused:

Had a repair done by Autoglass, roughly 7mm across.

Looks OK now. You can still see it if you look for it, but it doesn't stand out and your eye isn't drawn to it.

Is it worth calling them and seeing if they can have another go? Is that even possible????

Sometimes the repair can fail.

If you are worried I would get them to look at it.

Might be worth checking but I am sure Autoglass garantee the repair to the point that if it fails they replace the screen.

A lot depends on how clean the damage was prior to repair if dirt got into it the repair can often show more than it should.

If you get a chip in your screen its worth covering it as quickly as possible with selotape or suchlike to keep the muck out.

The chip was very clean prior to repair, less than a week between chip and repair with little rain. Parts of the underlying chip look as though the resin hasnt reached it. Will call Autoglass to see what they say.
