Fabia vRS on the way! :d

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm trading in my Civic Type R for a 05 vRS on sat. Had a look around the forum over the last few days. Points to consider seem to be the following:

  • The dreaded BLT code and stuttering related issues
  • The reports of the awesome performance experienced with the Jabbasport ARB

Are there any other matters that I should be concerned about? Also (and I know this is probably covered elsewhere) does anyone have any off-hand oil recommendations?

Many thanks indeed for any help/advice given

Are you getting a Fabia vRS?

Your vRS wont suffer from the stuttering issues as this was only on later reg's (i think 55 onwards)

I've had mine remapped with pd160 intake and green filter, this has made it alot faster and revs for longer, surprises a few people:thumbup:

Not got a jabba ARB but this is suppose to be the best mod :D(better than a remap some people say)

May i ask as why your trading your Type R for a Fabia vRS, some Type R owners on here reckon the Type R is in another league!

Basically IMO I'm overall underwhelmed by the CTR.

You have to hammer the CTR to get it to really go and kudos to it when it does but then stopping the bugger is a real pain and the brakes aren't that effective. The steering lacks feel and the handbrake is really poor (a common issue). The gearbox is also fiddly.

(awaits feedback!)

Coupled with the high running costs, its something I need to cut at the mo.

The fabia vRS looks good on paper and fun to drive with the potential of opening it up with some mods to show off some surprising performance.

I know what you mean i found the lack of torque a pain in the a##e

I've had mine two years and i still love it, even more so when you surprise people with the performance of a skoda! Especially with the remap, you find yourself matching much faster cars and people cant beleive it:thumbup:

I got overtaken by a CTR on full pelt last week, sounded awesome mind!
