Why does my trip computer reset everytime i use my car??

Featured Replies

Right basically the on board computer in my VRS resets itself everytime i drive it (mostly)

If say i do 2 journeys in one day it wont reset but if i do one journey a day then the next day i use the car the trip computer has reset?!

Is this ment to happen>?

My friend has the same year VRS as me but his computer never resets itself and he can see his average MPG for 1,000 + miles etc whereas mines resets every day! rather annoying!

Any body got any ideas??

Im on about the on board computer, the one that does journey time, distance, mpg, average mpg/ speed etc

help much appreciated!

theres 2 modes on the Fabia trip computer....

you will see next to some of the trip computer details IE MPG that it has a little (1) - this is the current "trip" information.. it will reset if the car is not driven for two hours. if you press the reset button quickly whilst this (1) is showing, it will change to the (2) trip details, which build up until you reset it manually.

hold the reset button down to reset it back to zero..

hope this helps

I noticed the little 1 and never knew what it ment!

I feel stupid now but thanks for your help:thumbup:

it will continue to do your average fuel consumption, miles covered and average speed until the clock that records hours/minutes driven gets to 99 hours 59 minutes then it will reset itself

yes, I was going to point out that mode (2) doesn't go on forever either.
