ABS fault, part number for Hydraulic unit

Featured Replies

Hi,

My car is a X reg 1.4 16v fabia. The ABS & TCS lights has came on, a dealer has identified that the problem is the ABS Hydraulic unit and quoted ~1k for the part alone. Dealer has given me a print out of the fault code:

03 - brake electronics

6Q0907379D (part number!?)

ABS/ASR 5.7 Front V00

Coding 124

00301 035

ABS return flow pump- V39

I have tested the ABS myself, and it doesn't work when hard braking. However, I noticed that during one particular level of soft braking I had some ABS kicks from the brake pedal. But the ABS should not kick in for that level of braking in my experience.

I understand that ABS is important and I should not mess about, but being a student I am really tight on money.

So I guess I will score the part from somewhere else, and ask an independent garage to fit that for me. I found some ABS unit on ebay but not sure which one will fit. So I would really appreciate if someone could give me the part number for the Hydraulic unit, and other stuffs that will be required (e.g. pipes!?). What about ABS unit off VW polo/golf, will they fit?

While I was on ebay, I saw someone offering to rebuild your own ABS unit. Is that worth a try?

Many Thanks in Advance

Louis

6Q0 907 379D is the part number but it may well have been updated.

It looks to me like there would have been more to it than that - The fault description.

Thanks. I guess I have to check with another garage for second opinion before I ordering parts.
