retro fitting factory sat nav unit

Featured Replies

hi all. any one had any experience in retro fitting a factory spec sat nav unit to there vrs fabia. am thinking about buying one of these units but not sure if its just a simple matter of plugging it in etc or do i need more than just the unit.

any ideas

You would need a 'plug and play' adaptor which is available from eBay, and also a gps aerial. You could probably get both for around £15

Other than that, it's just a case of plugging it in and possibly modifying the coding with VAG-COM.

I'm not sure how well the MFD fits in a Fabia due to it's flat front, where the standard unit has a curved front.

I have fitted one. As Phil says you need the Plug & Play loom and a small plastic fascia part which is around £2.50 from a dealer.
